Sadly racism is not dead in Rochester

Not surprisingly this note came anonymously…

I am wondering how many more buildings those from the MIDDLE EAST be allowed to purchase. Soon we’ll be totally owned by them….it’s frightening. I don’t for 1 minute believe they have only good intentions. Probably am fortunate I won’t live long enough to say I told you so.

In general I support direct foreign investment in Rochester.  I do not discriminate against against investors on the basis of their culture, ethnicity, race, religion, or country of origin.  I also like well build projects that support living wage jobs and pay significant property taxes… 🙂

  1. This is so sadly xenophobic. I suspect that this person, depending upon the year, would have used the same slur against other he felt were invading his town: Black, Irish, Asian, Chinese, Mormon, Iowan 🙂

Yes, there are some scary people in the Middle East, but there are many in Asia too (would he have the same reaction to Dennis and Lynn Wong opening another Dunn Brothers?), and South America, and Africa. Ignorance, fear and a jingoistic outlook are a dangerous
