Here is an opportunity to learn how to correctly prune trees (there are many incorrect ways) AND help your community!
Would you like to become licensed to do certain types of pruning as a volunteer with the city of Rochester? A class will be held November 16th from 9a.m. to 6p.m. at Rochester Community and Technical College.
The training will be provided by staff from the Forest Resources Department at the University of Minnesota. This training will provide you with information on not only how to make a proper pruning cut, but also how to identify specific trees and how to manage questions from other citizens.
The training costs $20 total if you provide your own pruning shear and small handsaw. If you would like a pruning shear and handsaw provided to you from the University the cost is $45 total.
If you have questions about the program or registration, please contact Valerie Price at price301@umn.edu.
