Denver community bicycle commuting!

It is past 12:30 AM here, but one last post from the NLC.  I took some time tonight and bought a $5 B-Cycle membership.  This is a system similar to Minneapolis where you can check out a bike at one location commute and return it at another.

These bikes are seriously heavy duty and build like a tank.  I took about a 3 mile ride to the Cherry Creek Shopping center and surrounding neighborhoods.  Later I rode back.  Of interest to Rochester, Denver has had no issues adding bike lanes to urban streets with well over 30,000 Vehicle trips per day.  They have build a great network, and people use it, year round.

I expect to hear more about this program in some mobile workshops I am taking the next couple of days.
