I just got a note from Kathy requesting that we ban smoking at city outdoor concerts. I agree 100%, we should have done this long ago. I will not be at the meeting on Monday, but I hope that this will pass unanimously.

Fortunately we fought opposition from the Rochester Area Builders Association and passed the Decorah Edge Protection ordinance. But there is much more work to do. Here is a note that I received with a link from Jeff Broberg. Jeff is one of the states leading experts on water issues and we share a interest in healthy trout streams.

Here are some good tips from RNeighbors. This one is easy and makes a huge difference.
Tip 2:
Keep it Clean – A dirty air filter can increase your energy costs and lead to early equipment failure. Clean or change the air filter in your heating and cooling system monthly. Some filters only need to be changed every 3 months. Also, have your equipment checked seasonally to make sure it’s operating efficiently and safely – check-ups can identify problems early. Dirt and neglect are the #1 causes of system failure.
